Racing a very minimal schedule over the last two seasons due to work and family obligations, Tommy Tarlton is thrilled to announce that he is starting off the 2014 season with the hopes of chasing after the inaugural California Triple Crown, by racing the full California Sprint Car Civil War Series Presented by Flowmaster, King of the West, and Ocean Sprints Presented by Taco Bravo schedules.
“I am extremely excited to get the 2014 started, and hopefully run all three schedules,” Tarlton said. “I say ‘hopefully’ because with our business it could force me to a miss a race down the road, but we are starting out the season with the intention of racing all three.”
Set to kick off Saturday night with the Civil War Series Presented by Flowmaster, Tarlton looks forward to starting his season off at the Marysville Raceway Park, a track that he has kicked his last two seasons off at, and had great success.
“Sprint Car racing has been apart of my family for a really long time, and this year is going to be special for me as now I will have a son to race in front of, and this year we will be doing a ton more racing it looks like,” he said.
During the 2013 season, Tarlton was in action 14 times and pocketed three wins while netting 12 Top-10 finishes.
With over 40-races on the schedule 2014 will be action packed for the Easton, CA driver, and he has been preparing for it all winter long.
“This year I will run more races that I have the last two years combined, so I can say I have been in the gym training for this all winter long,” he joked. “We have had success over the last few years, so hopefully that can extend into this year, and Paul Baines and the boys continue to put great cars on the tracks.
