SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will present the first of six races sanctioned by the United Racing Company (URC) traveling 360 sprint car contingent at 6 p.m. this Saturday, April 19. The super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners will round out the second four division racing card of the young 2014 racing season. Track gates will open at 4 p.m.

Kids are invited to participate in an Easter egg scramble this Saturday behind the covered grandstand at approximately 5 p.m.

URC’s sixty-seventh season will officially kick off this Saturday with former eight-time URC champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, Del., expected to lead the roster of talented 360 sprint car drivers into the historic Snyder County half-mile oval.

The 25-lap sprint car feature will pay $2,500 to win and $200 to start. The event will use an open draw for heat race starting positions plus a “revenge redraw” to determine part of feature fine up.

The super late models will vie in a 25-lap main event paying $1,500 to win. The pro stocks will compete in a 15-lap feature and roadrunners will close out the show with a 12-lap race.

Last Saturday, TJ Stutts of Liverpool opened the 360 sprint car season at Selinsgrove with a victory in the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) series event. Defending champion Jeff Rine of Danville won the late model feature, while Brad Mitch of McClure and Keith Bissinger of Orangeville scored the pro stock and roadrunner openers, respectively.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park will hold the Good Friday Special for go karts at 7 p.m. this Friday, April 18. The micro sprint cars will also have practice sessions on the one-fifth mile track. Gates on Friday will open at 5:30 p.m.
