(Lebanon, IN)  After taking the win on the pavement high banks of Anderson Speedway, Travis Young will lead the Mel Kenyon Midget Series to the other extreme – the flat dirt of US 24 Speedway on Saturday, May 3.

During the 2013 season Spencer Bayston dominated at US 24 Speedway.  With Bayston off racing full midgets the 2014 field of Mel Kenyon Midget Series competitors will be looking feast on the wide open opportunities to pick up wins and all important series points.

Young, Jessica Bean and Cordy Horn have all topped the podium at USSA midget dirt races and can be considered the favorites in Saturday’s US 24 round of the Mel Kenyon Midget Series.  2013’s rookie combatants Clayton Gaines and Cole Fehr will be hoping to join USSA’s dirt winners list by building on their year of experience.

The unknown for the 1st USSA dirt race of the season are the series Simpson World Indy Rookie contenders, Colton Dooley, Ashlea Albertson and brothers Ryan and Logan Huggler.  The rookies all performed well at Anderson; but, it remains to be seen how they will do at the other end of the racing spectrum.

Racing on Saturday night at US 24 Speedway in Logansport, In will begin at 7:30 with practice kicking-off at 6:15.
