Ohsweken, ON – (June 3, 2014) – Fresh off their third consecutive National Lacrosse League championship, the Rochester Knighthawks present this Friday’s weekly racing event at Ohsweken Speedway. The Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers are all part of the action this Friday, June 6.
JAMIE COLLARD/DUANE MAUSTELLER RECOVERY FUNDRAISER
Ohsweken Speedway regular Jamie Collard and Pennsylvania driver Duane Mausteller suffered serious injuries in a crash at the Empire Super Sprints tour event at Selinsgrove Speedway on May 17. A group of fans and friends have organized several fundraising activites at Ohsweken continuing this Friday to help Jamie and Duane during their recoveries. A total of $2960 was collected when the drivers went into the grandstands to pass their helmets last Friday night. Everyone from Ohsweken Speedway and the fundraising group wish to thank our great fans for their generosity!

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS
Glenn Styres and Chris Steele have won the first two 360 Sprint Car features of the season at Ohsweken, but Mikey Kruchka is the current championship points leader on the strength of runner-up finishes in both races. Styres currently holds the second spot in the standings, followed by Mitch Brown, defending champ Jim Huppunen, 2008 champ Keith Dempster, Steele, Shane Ross, Jamie Turner, 2010 champ Dave Dykstra, and Todd Hoddick. Cory Turner holds the 12th spot in the championship standings, and leads the Rookie of the Year standings.
STRICKLAND’S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS
Opening night feature winner Ryan Hunsinger leads the Crate Sprint Car standings, with Jake Brown, Brad Herron, Robbie General, and Tyler Hendricks holding spots in the top 5. Kyle Durnin served notice that he will be a threat to win this season, as he crossed the finish line first last Friday before his car was found to be slightly underweight. Runner-up Aaron Turkey was awarded the win as a result, and was also running in the top 5 when he a mechanical failure forced him drop out of the opening night race.
AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
An opening night win coupled with a runner-up finish to James Thompson last Friday has Wyatt Van Wart at the top of the Thunder Stock championship points standings. Defending champ Lee Winger is second, followed by Jim Lampman, Dave Bailey, Rookie of the Year standings leader Chase Hess, Chris Dickie, Dave Silverthorn, Jr., Steve Hess, Billy Bleich, Jr., and Jesse McDonald.

A runner-up finish on opening night and a feature win by inches last Friday over Lee Hils have Tyler Lafantaisie atop the Mini Stock championship points standings. Team 66 (Jon Janssens and Brandon Janssens) is currently second in the standings, followed by Team 81 (Alex Schuts and Lee Hils), Team 79 (Steve Miller and Dan Miller), Rookie of the Year standings leader Mark Bazuin, Kathi Dickie, Jonathan Ayrton, Dave Goodacre, Tim DeBoer, and a 10th place tie between Jason Lungaro and Lucas Lubin.
