The 25-lap main event for the sprint cars will pay $2,500 to win and $200 to start. Sprint car drivers will draw pills to determine their starting positions in the heat races as part of this year’s format for the URC Super Series at Selinsgrove.
The first URC race of the season at the track was won by Mark Smith of Sunbury on April 19. Subsequent URC races were won by Aaron Ott of East Berlin in the June 7 Jack Gunn Memorial and Davie Franek of Wantage, N.J., in the June 28 Firecracker 30.
In the Selinsgrove Speedway A&A Auto Stores/Mach 1 Chassis 360 sprint car standings, Smith holds a 155-point lead over TJ Stutts of Liverpool. Both Smith and Stutts are three-time winners at the track this season.
Other 360 sprint car winners at Selinsgrove this year include Brock Zearfoss of Jonestown and Ryan Kissinger of Bloomsburg.
In the Rislone URC tour standings, Franek will enter this weekend’s race at Selinsgrove with a mere 81-point lead over Randy West of Boyertown.
The super late models will compete in a 25-lap feature paying $1,500 to win. The pro stock main event will be 15 laps, while the roadrunner race will be 12 laps.
