ASCS Warriors Invade the Sprint Invaders at Quincy Raceways

TULSA, Okla. (August 12, 2014) – For the first time, the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region will go head-to-head with the Brockway Mechanical and Roofing Sprint Invaders at the Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Ill. on Sunday, August 17.

 

The final night of a three-day stretch for the Sprint Invaders, the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region will see their eleventh event of the 2014 season on Sunday.

 

Kansas racer, Jay Russell, leads the way for the Warrior Region with a 33 point margin over Jonathan Cornell who enters the weekend on a five race win streak with the Missouri based region. Randy Hibbs, who led early in the season, sits third 39 points back with Kyle Bellm fourth only 45 points removed from the championship lead. J.R. Topper currently makes up the top five with the Warrior Region.

 

For the Sprint Invaders, their weekend begins on Friday, August 15 at the Mt. Dew Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa on the grounds of the Davis County Fairgrounds. Friday’s event pays $1,500 to win, $300 to start. Lineups are determined by a draw/redraw format. Hot Laps get underway at 7:00 P.M. with admission set at $16 with discounts for Children and Seniors. Saturday, August 16 will have the Sprint Invaders in Burlington, Iowa at the 34 Raceway for a $2,034 to win A-Feature event with $325 offered to start the A-Feature. Time Trials will be used to set the field. Hot Laps get underway at 6:30 P.M. with General Admission at $16 with discounts for Children and Seniors. Sunday, August 17 at the Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Ill. will feature at $1,500 to win A-Feature with $300 to start. As the only night sanctioned with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region, ASCS draw and passing points will be used to set the field. Jon Agan holds the top spot with the Sprint Invaders after eight events this season with an 85 point advantage over Ton Shilling. Third finds Josh Schneiderman 88 points back with Mike Houseman, Jr. and Bret Tripplett making the top five.

 

Several bonuses and incentives are offered to Sprint Invader drivers who compete all three nights, including a Weekend Points Championship for the top five in accumulated points from the three nights courtesy of Storm Steel, Kelly Behnken, Pete Thomas, Riverview Designs, Midland Performance, T&S Trucking, Jeff and Amy Laue, along with Mike and Donna Pindell.
