Lebanon, IN — (April 7, 2015) – The 2015 edition of the USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series will open its 2015 campaign on Saturday April 11 at Anderson Speedway. For the 1st time in recent memory the series championship will not feature a battle between several former champions and the drivers who have spent several years building a resume in the Kenyon Midgets.
The field at Anderson Speedway will be chasing the series most experienced driver, 2011 Champion Jessica Bean. Bean is fourth on the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Winner’s chart and can make a move up the list with a strong 2015. All of the drivers in front of Bean on the all time winner’s list have either retired or moved on to several of the national touring series.
Clayton Gaines is starting his 3d season in the Mel Kenyon Midget Series and while he has yet to crack the top spot in victory lane, his experience should help him in his quest for his first USSA Championship. Kyle O’Gara joined the series in September of 2014 and earned two wins, including the 2014 season finale at Anderson Speedway.
Logan Huggler drove to his first series win at Anderson Speedway in 2014, and hopes to improve his season using a full year of track time to his advantage. Indy native Dameron Taylor has 3 series wins including one at Anderson. Taylor is always tough on pavement and is working on plans to expand his efforts to include all the dirt races in 2015.
The Mel Kenyon Midget Series is noted for the unpredictable and 2015 should not change that tradition. The 2015 Championship will be contested over a 19 race season ending in October at Anderson Speedway.
The Mel Kenyon Midget Series Kicks-off the 2015 USSA Racing season on Saturday April at Anderson Speedway.
