RISING CITY, Neb. (July 14, 2015) – Jack Dover used a late-race pass on Saturday at Butler County Speedway to score his eighth victory in the last 11 races.
Dover powered into the top spot on Lap 24 during the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints and NCRA co-sanctioned main event to garner his third triumph of the season at the track and his 11th straight podium finish.
“I’m very confident and comfortable racing at Butler County,” he said. “We had a great car all night and when it counted the most we took the lead.”
Dover kicked off the event by winning his heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. He then pulled the No. 4 during the random redraw, which lined him up on the outside of the second row for the main event.
Dover quickly maneuvered into the runner-up position at the start of the race and he spent most of the feature chasing down the leader. With two laps remaining an opportunity presented itself and Dover capitalized.
“We were in traffic with a couple of laps remaining and Jason Martin got slowed up a bit, which allowed us to close the gap,” he said. “The next lap I was able to get around him and take the lead.”
The win marked his ninth trip to Victory Lane this season. It was also the sixth out of the last seven Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints features won by Dover, who will compete with the series this Thursday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.
Dover has finished in the top two during each of his last three races at I-80 Speedway.
