Port Royal, PA — (October 10, 2015) — A fall festival afternoon and evening of fun awaits race fans this Saturday, October 17, at Port Royal Speedway as the oval hosts a weekend-long food, craft and flea market along with Open Wheel Madness for sprint cars.
Sprint car races featuring twin 25’s for 410 sprints and URC sprints are on tap at 5 pm on Saturday but before then fans can roam the grounds while taking part in Port Royal Foliage Days, an annual event held each October on speedway grounds.
A variety of indoor and outdoor food, craft and flea market vendors will surround the speedway on both Saturday and Sunday with a parade through downtown Port Royal at 1 pm on Saturday and a classic car show on the grounds on Sunday beginning at noon.
The 410 sprints will compete in the Foliage Days races on Saturday along with the URC 360/358 sprint cars at 5 pm.
It will be an outlaw tune up event for the 410 sprints as they compete under the outlaws format in a feature paying $5,000 to win while the URC sprints race for $2,000 to win.
And then the following week, October 24 at 5 pm, the oval will close the season with the World of Outlaws sprint cars along with the Mid Atlantic Modifieds in action.
A stellar field of both sprint divisions is expected for the Foliage Days races on October 17 with several traveling teams already expressing interest in the 410 sprint program as a way of readying for the October 24 Word of Outlaws season finale.
This Saturday’s Port Royal URC show will be the first at the track since 2013 when Randy West took a victory.
Admission to this Saturday’s Port Royal Foliage Days surrounding the speedway is FREE while adult general admission for the races is $20 with students ages 12 – 18 admitted for just $7.
Gates open at 3 pm.
