Making his final start in the United States in 2015, Jonathan Allard was dominant at the Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night as he picked up his first King of the West win of the season in dominating fashion, and finished fourth with the Civil War Series.
“Both of our cars were awesome all night long and it is a huge testament to Randy VanKeuren and all of the guys working on this thing,” Jonathan Allard said. “It was up and down year for us, and it feels really special to give Clyde and Marion Lamar another Tribute to GP win.”
In King of the West action, Allard timed the Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt No. 3c machine in seventh fastest, putting him on the front row of his heat race. Getting the jump, JA would race his way to a win and earn a spot in the night’s Dash.
Lining up in the second row of the six-lap shootout, Allard would finish in the fourth spot which would put him in the second row for the 30-lap season finale feature event.
On an extremely fast and hooked up Stockton Dirt Track 3/8 oval, Allard would make a slick move out of turn four when the green flag dropped to take the lead and that would be all he needed on this night.
Out front and in clean air, Allard was untouchable. Stretching his lead to 2.5 seconds at times during the feature event, the 2014 Gold Cup Champion was never seriously challenged on this night. A couple of restarts would put the field on his bumper, and each time Allard would gap them within two laps as he set a torrid pace.
With the checkered flag in the air, a pumped up Jonathan Allard cruised to his first KWS win of the season.
Like a few others on this night, Allard also took on the Civil War Series in their season finale event. Timing in second fastest, ‘JA’ would race his way to the heat race win from his second row starting spot and find himself in the Dash.
Lining up seventh in the Dash, Allard’s fifth place finish would put him in the third row for the 30-lap feature event. During the duration of the main, Allard would find himself battling with the likes of Justyn Cox and Shane Golobic during the early stages of the race as he raced for position inside the Top-Five.
Late in the race, JA found himself in the fourth spot but a charging Cory Eliason was coming for him. The final few laps saw Allard and Eliason swap position, but in the end it was Allard keeping the spot and earning a fourth place finish.
“Overall it was a great night for our team, and I am proud of the way re ran our final couple of weeks together,” Allard added. “I have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for their support over the season, as well as all of my fans for sticking with me. It has been a fun year in the US, and now I get to head to New Zealand to compete.”
Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T.
