WINDOM, Minn. (May 15, 2016) – The National Sprint League returns to action this weekend as the series makes its season debut at the two tracks that are on the 2016 schedule the most.
Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., hosts its first of nine events on Friday night when the $10,000-to-win Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals opens the season at the recently renovated half-mile track. A record 30 sprint cars will start the main event.
“Jackson Motorplex is a big enough track that we felt like starting 30 cars in the A Main would exciting for the fans as well as safe for the drivers,” National Sprint League Competition Director Chuck Zitterich said. “We have a lot of shows at Jackson Motorplex this season so we’re looking forward to kicking off the season there with a big event.”
Terry McCarl won the Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals last year at Jackson Motorplex, where Dusty Zomer and Sammy Swindell (twice) were also victorious during National Sprint League competition.
More than a dozen sprint car stars have indicated they will be racing at Jackson Motorplex this Friday, including McCarl, Austin McCarl, Brian Brown, Craig Dollansky, Ian Madsen, Davey Heskin, Lynton Jeffrey, Dakota Hendrickson, Tim Kaeding, Tasker Phillips, Chris Martin, Matt Juhl, Brooke Tatnell, Mark Dobmeier and defending series champion Danny Lasoski.
Knoxville Raceway, which is a half-mile oval in Knoxville, Iowa, welcomes the National Sprint League on Saturday for a $5,000-to-win show, which is the first of 10 events this season. Lasoski picked up the victory during the first two National Sprint League events last year with McCarl and Justin Henderson also earning series wins at Knoxville Raceway.
Tickets for Friday’s event at Jackson Motorplex, where the Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars featuring the GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 Tri-State Region and the Liquid Nitro RaceSaver 305 sprints will also be competing, are $25 for adult general admission, $12 for students ages 13 to 18 and free for children ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $30.
The pits are slated to open at 4:30 p.m. with the front gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps will begin around 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event at Knoxville Raceway are $15 for adults, $10 for ages 13 to 19 and free for ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $25.
Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. with qualifying at 7:15 p.m.
