One week removed from a pair of second place finishes at the Badlands Motor Speedway, Tim Kaeding came back with vengeance on Sunday night as he used a last lap pass to pick up a thrilling 360ci win to close out a strong weekend for his Lunstra Motorsports team.

“It was an awesome battle on Sunday night, and I am glad we were the ones who came out on top,” TK said. “We got a win a couple weeks back, but this one felt like a true team win.”

Unloading at the Badlands Motor Speedway in Brandon, SD on Sunday night, Kaeding would line the Folkens Bros. Trucking/Dammer Trucking/Mihm Trucking backed No. 3 machine up in the third row of the fourth heat.

Picking up a second place finish in the heat, TK would line up on the pole for the 20-lap feature event with reigning ASCS National Champion Aaroun Reutzel to his outside.

When the race came to life, the San Jose, CA driver jumped out to the early lead as Reutzel flanked him. Setting a strong pace early in the ‘A’, Kaeding would soon find himself in lapped traffic, which allowed Retuzel to close the gap.

On the 11th circuit, Reutzel would make his move and put TK back in the second spot as the duo would treat the crowd to an epic battle over the final nine laps of the feature event. Trading the top spot on a number of occasions, Kaeding would take the white flag in the second spot.

As he pulled up alongside Reutzel getting into turn one, the duo would make contact and Kaeding would nearly see his night come to an end. Standing on the throttle, Kaeding would not lose any ground to Reutzel and would use a big time move in turns three and four to take the lead as they came to the checkered. Bumper to bumper out of four, the duo would touch again, but it would be Kaeding claiming the win in thrilling fashion.

“That was awesome in my book,” Kaeding added. “We almost wrecked in one corner, and came back to make a pass for the win in the next. This is huge for our team, and I can’t thank Dave Lunstra and these guys enough for continuing to grind week in and week out.”

Kaeding was also in action on Thursday and Saturday night. Thursday night at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, MN Kaeding would navigate around a rubbered up surface to finish in the third spot with the NSL 360’s.

Sataurday night at the Badlands Motor Speedway Kaeding again had a strong run going as he battled with some stiff competition as they raced inside the Top-Five. Late in the race on a slick racing surface, Kaeding would seal his tires up, and slip back to finish in the fifth spot.

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Folkens Bros. Trucking, Dammer Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will take on the World of Outlaws on Friday night at the Knoxville Raceway before returning to the Badlands Motor Speedway on Saturday and Sunday night.
