BILLINGS, Mont. (July 11, 2016) – A lot of money is up for grabs beginning this weekend at Billings Motorsports Park, which hosts the first doubleheader of the three-weekend, six-race NSA Shootout.
The 3/8-mile oval will showcase some of the top national and regional 360ci sprint car competitors during Friday’s $2,000-to-win race and Saturday’s $7,500-to-win, $500-to-start spectacle.
In addition to bonuses for winning races – any driver who wins three of the six NSA Shootout main events will receive a $1,000 bonus, four A Main victories nets a $1,500 bonus with five triumphs providing a $2,000 bonus and sweeping all six races is worth an extra $2,500 – the NSA Shootout is offering a points fund of at least $5,000.
Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour drivers Aaron Reutzel, who is the defending national champion, along with Wayne Johnson and Matt Covington have stated they will compete at Billings Motorsports Park along with Texas native Travis Rilat, who is the 2003 ASCS National Tour champion.
Trevor Kirkland and David Hoiness are among the top regional competitors who are slated to defend their home turf against the national drivers and other invaders.
“We should have a great car count consisting of national drivers taking on the regional racers,” Billings Motorsports Park Owner and NSA Shootout Founder Mike Quigley said. “We’ve set up a lot of bonuses and a points fund as well in an effort to give back to the racers who put on great shows for the fans.”
Quigley said the race format for the NSA Shootout, which includes races Aug. 26-27 at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, during the 61 st annual Gold Cup and Sept. 9-10 at Billings Motorsports Park, will be announced later this week.
This weekend’s events at Billings Motorsports Park also include midwest modifieds and street stocks both nights as well as late models on Saturday.
Online tickets are on sale for the two-day spectacle at http://www.BMPSpeedway.com until Friday afternoon. Adult tickets are $20 for Friday ($16 pre-buy) and $25 for Saturday ($21 pre-buy) and $10 each night ($7 per night pre-buy) for children ages 7 to 11. Children ages 6 and younger get in free. There’s also a pre-buy bundle for the weekend providing adult tickets for both nights for only $37 and children ages 7 to 11 for only $11 total.

THE EVENT –
The inaugural NSA Shootout features six total 360ci winged sprint car races – four at Billings Motorsports Park in Billings, Mont., and two at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – this summer. All races have elevated pay and the event will showcase feature bonuses as well as a points fund.
