HOLLY, Mich. (November 15, 2016) – Following successful owners and drivers meetings in the Midwest and Southeast, the Must See Racing Sprint Car Series is moving into final preparations for its 2017 season.

Included in the upcoming year will be several high-profile changes designed for the betterment of asphalt sprint car racing as the series looks to continue its positive growth from this past year.

For the first time, Must See Racing will have both a North and a South division, as the sanctioning body expands its total slate of race events to 20 for the upcoming season.

The two series will be independent of each other, with both divisions offering separate purses, points funds and championships, as well as multiple contingency and cash bonuses for competing drivers.

The North division is preparing for a 12-race schedule in 2017, with South drivers gearing up for eight races split between the spring and fall. Specific race dates will be announced in the near future.

Slight differences will be on offer for the South division next year, with slight rules tweaks put into place to better level the competition between northern 410ci sprint cars that elect to compete in the south and the southern 360ci entries, as well as feature bonuses for 305ci cars and competing Carolina No Bull Sprint drivers.

The Must See Racing South division will carry a working partnership with the Carolina No Bull Sprint Series in 2017. Both the North and South divisions officiating crews will be led by race director Brent Seelman.

In addition, Must See Racing will offer heat race payouts to the top three positions in every heat race, for both North and South divisions, during the course of the season – becoming the first asphalt sprint car series in the country to offer heat race payouts at its events.

Both series will also offer a new-for-2017 fast time bonus of $100 for the top qualifier at every event.

Must See Racing is in the final stages of completing its new television package for the 2017 season as well, with specific details to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

With all of the new features on hand for the upcoming season, MSR Founder and President Jim Hanks is optimistic that 2017 will be the biggest year yet for the series as it enters its eighth full year.

“We’ve added a lot of things for next year, all of which are coming to benefit our racers and make our series that much stronger,” Hanks said. “We’re excited to expand our commitment to the Southeastern sprint car field and give them a full series to race in 2017, as well as to continue our longstanding tradition of excellence with the Must See Racing North division. Both series, combined with our new bonuses and expanded race schedule, set us up for a strong year of exciting action as we move into the new year.”

Jimmy McCune is the two-time defending champion of the Must See Racing North division and will attempt to claim his record third straight title in 2017.
