Ortega Back in Action with ASCS Southwest Win at CSP!

Albuquerque’s Derrik Ortega hadn’t made a Sprint Car start all year. The 19-year-old knocked the rust off in short order though by kicking off Canyon Speedway Park’s Hall of Fame Classic weekend with a strong drive to victory lane in Friday night’s 25-lap winged ASCS Southwest Region main event atop the semi-banked, 3/8-mile clay oval.

World of Outlaws on SPEED Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern

Strange locks entry into prestigious Trophy Cup in Tulare this weekend

It’s the biggest race for 360 sprint cars of the year in California, and Elk Grove’s Billy Strange will be on the roster for the 17th annual Trophy Cup at the Tulare Thunderbowl this Friday and Saturday in Tulare, California. Strange will be one of 80 talented sprint car drivers in competition this weekend and will be in the company of some of the nation’s best known talent on the lighting fast 1/3 mile track.

Brian Brown – Mixed Results!

A three-race weekend yielded mixed results for Grain Valley, Missouri’s Brian Brown and the FVP #21 racing team. A trip to the Devil’s Bowl yielded a crash in the prelim and a sixth place finish in the finale. On Sunday, the team came home with a second place finish in Wichita. They’ll take the weekend off in anticipation of the Short Track Nationals in Little Rock, Arkansas, October 28-30.
