Hafertepe Wins the 2011 Canadian Sprint Car Nationals

Sam Hafertepe, Jr. waited until Saturday to take the track at Ohsweken Speedway and made the wait worthwhile by winning the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals feature event. Hafertepe passed Jamie Collard on lap 12 and motored away for his first Canadian Nationals championship driving his family owned team. Hafertepe collected $11,000 dollars for his effort.

Wayne Johnson won the battle of Miles Hill owned cars to win the Dave MacLeod Mr. Sprint Car Challenge during Friday’s Night Before the Nationals program at Ohsweken Speedway. Johnson defeated his teammate Jamie Collard, who was one of MacLeod’s last drivers, for the victory.

Collard Capitalizes on Poirier’s Misfortune To Win Ohsweken Shootout

Jamie Collard became the first Ontario driver to win the Ohsweken Shootout Friday night during the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. Collard managed to avoid disaster when then leader Steve Poirier had mechanical problems when leading and motored on to win the special 10-lap event featuring top drivers from each of the affiliate sanctioning bodies taking place in the Nationals.
