Opening weekend at Thunderbowl Raceway fast approaching

Tulare, CA – February 10, 2010…With the 2010 Thunderbowl Raceway season opener featuring the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series just three weeks away race fans are reminded that tickets to the event are on sale and can be purchased by calling the track office at (559) 688-0909.

The upcoming show on March 5 & 6 at the Tulare, CA based facility will mark the only visit of the season for the “Greatest Show on Dirt” to the Central Valley and it is expected to be a can’t miss two-nights of racing at the always entertaining 1/3 mile clay oval.

In addition to the World of Outlaws a pair of exciting other divisions will also be on hand at the event to certainly give everyone their full monies worth throughout the double-header weekend. On Friday night the powerful West Coast Late Models will be in action alongside the World of Outlaws and on Saturday evening the USAC West Coast 360 Sprinters will take to the track with a strong field of wingless sprint cars expected.

Following the first couple nights of racing in Florida four-time and defending champion Donny Schatz currently sits atop the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series standings by just three slim digits over new Tony Stewart Racing teammate Steve Kinser and Kasey Kahne Racing driver Joey Saldana, who claimed 21 Outlaw victories last season at the helm of the Budweiser sponsored No. 9, including the March 21 event in Tulare. Clovis, CA’s Jason Meyers ranks fourth in the standings and is just 19 out of the lead going into the next series event, which takes place on February 26 in Las Vegas.

Tickets for Friday night March 5 at the Thunderbowl Raceway will be $35 in the bleachers and $40 in the grandstands while Saturday March 6 will be $40 in the bleachers and $45 in the grandstands. For a seating chart, directions and more log onto http://www.thunderbowlraceway.com
