USCS Outlaw Sprint Cars headline Sunday Speed Spectacular at North Alabama Speedway – Sunday, May 30th

Tuscumbia, AL – The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by Goodyear headlines an action-packed racing program for the Sunday Speed Spectacular at North Alabama Speedway this Sunday night (May 30th). The event is Round Two of six during the USCS Sprint Speedweek presented by Biobased USA for winged sprint cars.

Drivers from at least six states are pre-entered for Sunday night’s appearance of the World’s fastest and most powerful short track race cars. The format for the 1300 pound, 700 horsepower USCS sprint cars will consist of Test n’ Tune hot laps followed by the first race of the evening, the Goodyear Speed Dash which features the top six cars from the previous event in a six lap shootout. The USCS drivers then compete for starting positions in the main event via qualifying heat races and B-Main event(s). The USCS Speedweek presented by Biobased USA Round Two 30-lap main event pays $2000 to win. The 2008 United Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee won his career-first USCS main-event on May 24th during the USCS Speedweek 2009 Round Two.

The winged Outlaw sprint cars will be joined on the racing card by the USCS Modified Touring Series to form a USCS double-header. The USCS Modified drivers will be racing for $1000 to win with $1200 posted for a Modified driver who can win TOPLESS. With the posted $100 Fast time award and $100 to win the USCS Modified Power Dash, one driver could leave North Alabama Speedway with $1400 for the evening’s efforts.

Last season the USCS brought 26 winged sprint car and 23 USCS Outlaw Modified entries to the speedway for the Sunday night, Memorial Day Holiday weekend special event. Additionally, three of the tracks weekly racing divisions are on the racing card with special events in each division. The NAS Late Model Stock division will be racing for a $1000 top prize with $1300 possible to the winner with bonuses. The NAS Modified Street and Mini Stock weekly racing divisions will be racing for $500 to the winner in each class.

Each division will contest a full program of racing treating the race fans to a full program of preliminary races in each division and over 100 laps of main events.
