Port Royal – The upcoming 44th annual Tuscarora 50 for sprint cars at Port Royal Speedway on September 10 will be the second of a two-day weekend for the open wheel machines at the historic oval as part of the Juniata County Fair.

Jakes Golf Carts of McVeytown is the title sponsor of the Tuscarora 50 that will pay out some $11,000 to win plus at least $25 to lead a lap and $500 just to start.

Saturday’s Tuscarora 50 itself will see heat races aligned by a draw system while one-lap time trials will set the Friday night lineups for the Living Legends Dream Night Before The 50 twin 20s program.

Time trials on Friday will not be linked to Saturday’s 50 alignment procedures.

A dash to determine the front rows of the feature starting lineups will be run on both nights.

On top of the already listed Tuscarora 50 winner’s share of at least $11,000, possibly up for grabs on the night as well is the Lelands.com $2,000 Tuscarora 50 Weekend Bonus In Memory Of Marion Ritzman.

If one driver fails to sweep Friday’s twin 20s and claim the $2,000 bonus, the cash rolls over to Saturday night for either one of the twin 20 winners, if he or she can triumph in the 50.

In the event of a Living Legends Dream Night Before The 50 rainout of the twins on Friday night, all legends honors and Friday contingency cash and awards will roll over to Saturday’s Tuscarora 50 program.
