Mitchell Dumesny Wins at Sydney

Sydney, AU — (November 5, 2011) — Mitchell Dumesny has claimed an enthralling A-Main victory tonight at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway. Second home was Adrian Maher making his season debut and third home was Jon McCorkindale.

Mitchell Dumesny was just too strong in the latter part of the race and found good form to run away with the victory. Adrian Maher ran a consistent race, making his way to second place with just three laps remaining.

McCorkindale who started from the pole position, led the majority of the race before a late race restart bunched the field up. From that point on, Mitchell Dumesny who restarted from the third position pounced on McCorkindale with just seven laps remaining.

As mentioned, the only stoppage in the race occurred on lap eighteen when Ben Atkinson spun on turn four.

Also having a strong run tonight was Warren Ferguson. Ferguson held the second place down for the majority of the race before fading late in the race to record a fifth place finish.

The Wingless Sprints A-Main was won by Northern Territorian Jarrod Goldoni from Michael Sammut and Adam Wray.

Ross Nicastri won an exciting Late Model’s A-Main over veteran Ron Pyne and Dave Robertson.

The Street Stock A-Main was won by Kevin Blackley from Lucas Walters and Brett Mitchell.

All attention now turns to next Saturday night, November 12 when the NSW Super Sedan Championship will be held and the first Demolition Derby will be held.
