KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 20, 2012) โ Many of the 2011 North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll awards will be presented this Thursday night, August 23, at the United States Auto Club (USAC) sanctioned โSprint Car Smackdown 1โ at the Kokomo Speedway in Indiana.
According to National Sprint Car Museum curator Tom Schmeh today, โPhotographer Dave Hill and I are excited to be going out this week for the first night of the inaugural โSprint Car Smackdownโ at Kokomo, Indiana. We have a number of 2011 North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll awards to present, including Driver of the Year to Levi Jones, Team of the Year to Ken & Margo Baldwin and crew, Rookie of the Year to Logan Jarrett, Media Member of the Year to Sean Buckley, and Manufacturers of the Year to Jeff Claxton and John Godfrey. In fact it is only appropriate that we will be presenting Kokomo Speedwayโs Jim OโConnor with his 2011 Promoter of the Year award at this inaugural three-day event, August 23-24-25.โ
