Tulsa, OK — (March 26, 2014) — Last weekend was an exhausting one for Andrew Felker, who battled mechanical issues during the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series season-opening event.

After leading the first half of his heat race on Saturday on the opening night of the Turnpike Challenge at Port City Raceway, Felker pulled into the infield early because of mechanical woes.

“I could feel it start to tighten up and I just pulled in the infield,” he said. “We tried changing valve springs before Sunday. We got fired off for hot laps, but never even made a lap.”

Felker scratched from the remainder of Saturday’s event following the heat race and he was unable to compete on Sunday.

“It was disappointing to say the least, but we’re focused on the next race and the next opportunity,” he said.

Felker is slated to drive for the RAB Racing team out of Wisconsin when he hits the track next with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series on April 4 at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Ill., and April 5 at Macon Speedway in Macon, Ill. The race at Lincoln Speedway is a co-sanctioned event with the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association.

“We are going to run the full Badger series and part of the POWRi schedule together,” he said. “I’m excited about the opportunity and can’t wait to get rolling.”

Amy Reisdorf and Bill Ecker of RAB Racing earned the owners championship last season in the Badger series.
