ASCS Southwest Returning to Arizona Speedway

By Bryan Hulbert

TULSA, Okla. (May 6, 2015) Round seven of the 2015 season for the ASCS Southwest Region is set for this Saturday, May 9 at the Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. for a Mother’s Day Weekend celebration.ascs southwest logo

Last taking on the three-eighths mile oval on April 25, the A-Feature was unfortunately cut short by rain, but had a silver lining when promoter, Jonah Tussel, paid the night’s purse based on the A-Feature starting lineup.

Looking to get all 25 laps in the books this Saturday, Rick Ziehl continues to show the way with the southwest arm of the ASCS Nation, carrying a 40 point advantage over Ryan Linder. Joshua Williams holds third with Lance Norick and Bob Ream, Jr. tied for fourth in tour standings. It was Ream who took a nearly straight-a-way long tumble on April 25 at the Arizona Speedway at the start of the feature event. With the rains relegating all to show-up points, the Glendale, Ariz. driver will have a shot to take over fourth from Norick.

The evening will include Pure Stocks, Modlites, Bombers, and Lady Stocks. For more information on the Arizona Speedway, log onto http://www.arizonaspeedway.net or call 480-926-6688.
