HHODNETT EYES FIVE WINS IN A ROW AT GRANDVIEW JUNE 30 SPEEDWEEK

Greg Hodnett has dominated the 410 sprints at the Grandview Speedway, winning the last four NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill events in the past two years.  Driving the Mike Heffner owned sprint car, Hodnett is an obvious favorite to collect the $5,000 payday on Tuesday night, June 30 in the 35 lap Pennsylvania 410 Sprint Speed Week Series event.  Also on the program will be the NASCAR 358 Modifieds taking part in a series of qualifying events all leading up to the 30 lap feature paying $3,000 to the winner.   Gates will open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM

 

Hornet of Spring Grove, PA is an eight time Thunder on the Hill feature winner and a five time Thunder Series Champion, taking  the title in  2003, 2009,  2012, 2013 and 2014.  Joining Hornet as expected entries include one of the most popular 410 sprint car drivers in the area, Ryan Smith the Kunkletown Kid from nearby Kunkletown, PA,  Brian Montieth, Lucas Wolfe, Brent Marks, Freddie Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Steve Buckwalter, Freddie Rahmer and Alan Krimes just to name a few.

 

For the 410 Sprint Cars, Quaker Steak & Lube has sweetened the pot for drivers who pre-enter for the coming Tuesday, June 30 Speed Week event at Grandview.   There is no entry fee for drivers and they my pre-enter by calling 443 513 4456.  Drivers shall provide their name, car number, home town and phone number.   Pre-entered drivers will be eligible for $50 in cash to win a heat race, there is also a  $100 bonus for fast time and an additional $100 to the driver who establishes a new one lap track record.   The current one lap track record is 11.433 set on May 21, 2008 and set by Jeff Shepard who was driving the ZEMCO sprint car.   Quaker Steak & Lube is also post $125 for all non-qualified 410 sprint cars.

 

The 35 lap 410 Sprint payoff will offer $5,000 to the winner,  fifth will pay $1,400,  tenth is offering $1,000,  fifteenth $450 and $400 will be paid to just start the feature event.

 

In the 358 Modifieds, Duane Howard is a favorite along with Craig VonDohren, Doug Manmiller, MeMe Desantis, Frank Cozze, Billy Pauch Jr., Ryan Godown and a host of others chasing the $3,000 pay day in the 30 lap feature.

 

Advance tickets are on sale for this event.  Please feel free to reserve your advance ticket by calling  443 513 4456 and be sure to leave your name, number of tickets and a phone number.  Advance tickets may be picked up and paid for at the WILL CALL Window on race night after 3:30 PM.   Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstand at 4:30 PM, one-half hour before general admission tickets go on sale.

 

Admission is $25 for adults, $10 for children 6 – 11, and children five and under will be admitted for free.  The pit fee is $30 with a license and $35 without a license.
