Abbottstown, PA — (April 30, 2016) — The predicted rain arrived two hours early Saturday night, forcing “410” sprint cars running the consolation event off the track and forcing promoters to postpone the remainder of the 13th Annual Weldon Sterner Memorial until Tuesday, May 10th.

The mid-week show will pick up where it left off, completing the final four laps of the 410 sprint consolation and the 358 sprint car consolation before completion of the features for the two sprint divisions and the All-American Outlaws.

Lincoln promoters have announced that rain checks from Saturday’s show will be honored the next three shows or for the Sterner Memorial make-up night on May 10th. Fans who do not have a rain check from Saturday will be able see the May 10th show at a reduced cost of $12 admission (and $5 for students). Gates will open at 6 PM, with warm-ups at 7:30 PM, and racing getting underway at 8 PM.

Before the rains came, heat races for the 410 sprints were won by Greg Hodnett, Jim Siegel, and Robbie Kendall, with six laps completed in the consolation.

Earlier in the evening, fast time in time trials for the 29-car field was set by Greg Hodnett with a new one-lap track record time of 12.577-seconds (107.339 MPH). In fact, the fastest three cars eclipsed the old track record of 12.719 seconds held by Lucas Wolfe from 2015.

Hodnett drew a 4-pill for the inversion, putting Danny Dietrich and Alan Krimes on the front row for the May 10th show, with Brandon Rahmer and Hodnett to start on row two.

Heats for the 31 358 sprints were won by Cody Fletcher, Steve Storie, and Kyle Denmyer, with a consolation event still to come on May 10th.

Next weekend, Saturday, May 7th, it will be APPLE AUTOMOTIVE NIGHT, along with Dover Elementary Night, featuring the 410 Sprints, 358 Sprints and Street Stocks. Racing gets underway at 7:30 PM, with gates opening at 5:30 PM.
