Henderson wins 360 feature at Badlands

From Badlands Motor Speedway

Brandon, SD — (July 10, 2016) — Justin Henderson was able to recover from an opening lap incident in the MSTS 360 Sprint Car feature that claimed five cars. Jordan Martens made contact with Henderson at the front of the field, sending Martens into a Turn 1 flip, but Henderson was able to swap out his damaged nose wing under the ensuing open red.

A second wave, however, saw other cars flip and suffer enough damage to take them out of action. Martens, Elijah Johnson, Chris Martin, Cody Hansen and Skyler Prochaska had to retire after the inauspicious start.

Once the race went green, Henderson enjoyed the lead throughout the A Main until Tim Kaeding came knocking at the door. Kaeding, who started seventh, got to within striking distance of Henderson only to fall behind by four seconds with about five laps to go. Kaeding kept coming and made it close at the finish, but Henderson took the checkered flag with just over four-tenths of a second to spare.

Gregg Bakker, who had been dealing with motor problems for the last month, returned to BMS and placed third ahead of Eric Lutz and Jody Rosenboom.
