MYERSTOWN, Penn. (December 6, 2016) – Since launching his open wheel career in 2009, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks has entertained the idea of hitting the road full-time; joining the world’s most elite sprint car competitors for a full-out campaign across much of the United States. That longing will soon become a reality as the Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native prepares to join the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series for the 2017 season.

Brent Marks Racing, joined by mechanics Kevin Osmolski and Jesse Lentz, will chase Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year honors during their inaugural campaign with the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series. In addition, Marks hopes to represent his Central Pennsylvania fanbase, as well as his partners and supporters, at the highest level, ultimately earning a first-ever main event victory with the “Greatest Show On Dirt.”

“I am very excited for my rookie season and having the privilege to compete for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award in 2017. It would be a huge honor to win that award,” Marks said. “It will be a huge honor to compete with the World of Outlaws and race with them for wins and a championship. I can’t thank everyone enough, past and present, who has helped me get this far. I wouldn’t be anywhere close to this position without them.”

The 2017 World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series schedule will begin with DIRTcar Nationals competition at Volusia Speedway Park near Barberville, Florida, on February 17-19. The season will continue with a trip through the south to the West Coast for a multi-week stand throughout areas of California. Full-time travelers will actually return to the Pacific Coast during a later segment of the season, but not before racing throughout much of the Midwest and Northeast during the heart of the summer. Marks’ first, full season with the World of Outlaws, a trek engulfed with nearly 100 events throughout a time period of almost ten months, will conclude officially with an early November visit to The Dirt Track at Charlotte near Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Joining the World of Outlaws tour has been a lifelong dream of mine,” Brent Marks explained. “I have worked very hard, especially during the last seven seasons, to get myself in a position to one day become a full-time race car driver. I’ve jumped over some big hurdles and I am very proud that I have been able to put together sponsors and a team that will support me on the World of Outlaws tour.”

Brent Marks Racing, partnered with M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, Wolfrun Landscapes, and KC Automotive for the 2017 season, will spend all of December and January making final preparations for their World of Outlaws rookie campaign. Additional news and updates will be posted in the near future.

“We have a lot to prepare for, but we are more than excited to get the year started.”
