Concord, NC— The third annual World of Outlaws World Finals featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is quickly approaching at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, November 5-7. In the 11 days leading up to the three-day action packed season ender, World of Outlaws drivers will share their thoughts on what is quickly becoming one of the “Must See” marquee events of the year.
The next driver up is Joey Saldana, who won for the first time in his career at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway earlier this season. He is the only driver other than Donny Schatz, who has competed in all 21 of the previous World of Outlaws events at the high-banked four-tenths-mile. In his career at the track, Saldana has 13 Top-10 finishes. He enters the World Finals this season third in the World of Outlaws championship standings on the strength of a series-best 19 A-Feature wins and 20 triumphs overall. He is 46 markers out of the lead as he chases his first career title in what is the closest three-way battle in series history.
Joey Saldana, Driver of the No. 9 Budweiser Maxim:
“I always look forward to it, especially this year with how strong we have been running. If we have some help the other guys, hopefully we leave there with a championship, but obviously we’ll need some help. It’s a great facility and a great standalone event. I think it showed them last year that dirt track racing is pretty popular with late models and sprint cars. Having the crowd they had was huge and it showed they don’t need the stock cars racing across the street to get a big crowd. It’s neat to know that dirt track racing can bring that many people there. Hopefully it’s the same turnout again and great racing like last year. Hopefully we are at the front in both of them.”
The finale of the World Finals will air live on SPEED on Saturday, November 7 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Bobby Gerould on the call and Brad Doty offering expert analysis along with Shane Andrews and Erin Crocker reporting from the pit area.
