Reidy Records Another WSS Top 10 Finish

From Daniel Powell

Danny Reidy has recorded another Top 10 feature race result, this time at Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway last Saturday night during the second round of the 09/10 World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship.

As a result of his eighth place finish Reidy now sits sixth in the overall WSS Championship point standings after two completed rounds.

Reidy admitted that it was a tough night overall where passing around the Charlton Raceway track was difficult, especially during the feature race.

“Early on in the feature race I had made a good start and moved into sixth spot up until I made a slight error and lost a few spots and eighth place was where I remained through to the finish,” Reidy explained. “It was the type of track where you needed to start towards the front or otherwise it was going to be tough to move forward, as everyone carried good speed and there was basically only one race line to work with.”

The night for Reidy began strongly when he qualified third in time trials and then placed seventh and 10th in his two heat races and as a result he started the feature race from position seven in the field.

Reidy travels down to Parramatta City Raceway (PCR) for the third round of the WSS Championship this Saturday night and it is where he is looking to post his strongest result to date.

“PCR has been good to me lately and I’d like to think that a top five finish is something that we can achieve,” said Reidy, who finished on the podium at PCR twice late last season. “PCR is one of the toughest tracks in the country and it’s only going to get tougher when the WSS Championship arrives.”

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs, Baines Engines and P & M Motor Body Repairs for all their ongoing support in the 09/10 season.
