Heeley Motorsports’ driver Darryl Campbell is excited about racing in this year’s Grand Annual Classic at Warrnambool. The Sydney based driver will compete in this year’s Classic as well as Round 12 of World Series Sprintcars on Australia Day.
“We love racing at Warrnambool,” commented Campbell. “We seem to have a good fan base in Warrnambool so it’s good to get down and catch up with them and put a show on.”
Fans will have a chance to see the Heeley Motorsport car and have a chat to Darryl before it hits the track at the fan appreciation day, held at the Home Makers Centre from 10 till 12. As always, DC has plenty of posters and stickers to give away to fans and kids as well as some Valvoline caps.
“We pride ourselves on our fan base and presentation. It’s all about giving our young fans a chance to meet us and to sit in the car before we get to the track. That way they know who they are supporting, not just following a car.”
Campbell’s Victorian assault comes on the back end of his maiden Sprintcar win at Parramatta just two weeks ago. This weekend Campbell has his sights set on a top 10 finish in the prestigious event, facing one of the biggest fields in Australian Sprintcar history.
