The past week for James McFadden has resulted in his 09/10 season reaching a new high with the standout performance being an outstanding fourth place finish in the prestigious Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.
Apart from the Grand Annual Classic result, McFadden also finished second behind Brooke Tatnell in the Presidents Cup at Avalon Raceway (Geelong, VIC) and was the highest placed Australian based driver in fifth during the 12th round of the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship last Tuesday night at Premier Speedway (Warrnambool, VIC).
McFadden, who is currently placed sixth in the WSS Championship point standings, is naturally thrilled with his current run of form and was quick to mention that a lot of the credit to all the efforts of his hard working team.
“We’re only a small team and each and every one of them put in a fantastic effort night after night and it’s great to be able to reward them with some consistent strong results,” McFadden enthused. “When you have a look through the feature race field of the Presidents Cup, Grand Annual Classic and the World Series round at Premier Speedway they are world class and to be able to finish right up amongst the front runners is a very rewarding experience.”
One of the keys to the WA # 25 Totally Workwear supported Cool driver’s current run of form has been his ability to be consistent throughout the nights and earn strong starting positions in the feature race field.
“There are no two ways about it; if you don’t start towards the front of the feature race then you are going to be in for a tough time just to make it through the field and run inside the Top 10,” explained McFadden. “Not only are there so many class drivers from both here and America these days but almost every driver in the field has first class equipment, so you need to be on top of your game each and every time you hit the track.”
McFadden will this Saturday night (January 30) stop over at Speedway City (Adelaide, SA) to run the Australian Nationals on his way to the Western Australia leg of the WSS Championship that is to be held the following weekend.
McFadden would like to thank his car owner Scott Milling, father and crew chief Dave McFadden, and sponsors Totally Workwear and KRE Race Engines for their all continued 09/10 season support.
