When the chips are down you have to try something new in order to pick yourself back up and that was exactly what Danny Reidy did recently and it’s already reaping its rewards.
Since switching a brand new J&J for the Australian Nationals at Speedway City (Adelaide, SA) a fortnight ago it has brought Reidy a change of fortune and also results.
The NT # 5 Desert Palms Resort / Titan Plant Hire supported J&J driver finished 10th at the Australian Nationals, followed by a 12th at the Kalgoorlie International Speedway round of World Series last Wednesday night and then he placed 10th and seventh at the final round of the World Series at the Perth Motorplex last Friday and Saturday night.
Last Saturday night during the World Series finale Reidy qualified for the feature race in third after he enjoyed a solid run through the pole shootout. In the feature race itself, Reidy ran strongly inside the top five up until the latter stages when he hooked a rut and consequently dropped back to finish in seventh.
“Yeah, I messed up in the final laps by running into a rut and that denied me of a top five result,” said Reidy. “The new car is going great at the moment and I’m really pleased with the speed and consistency it has shown so early on. It also looks to be the change that I needed to make as my luck has turned around too.”
At the completion of the World Series Championship for the 09/10 season Reidy finished up ninth in the final point standings.
Reidy will make his first visit to Collie Speedway (Collie, WA) for the latest round of the Southern Thunder Series this Saturday night (February 13).
Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Titan Plant Hire, Baines Engines, Gonzo Racing Pipes, Camden Neon Signs and P&M Motor Body Repairs for all their support throughout the 09/10 season.
