For Ryan Jones, the sting of missing out on his third straight Australian 360 championship has just been lessened. The Murray Bridge native can now add another title to his already impressive resume’, as Jones won Saturday nights George Tatnell Cup at Speedway City in Adelaide, South Australia in his Triple X Race Co chassis. The win was Jones’ first career 410ci triumph, and it came in dramatic fashion as he held off one of AU’s finest in Robbie Farr and fellow Team XXX member Matt Egel for the win. Jones led every lap of the feature from his inside row one starting position, fending off challenges from Farr and Egel the entire distance to score the W.
Jimmy Brookens kicked off his 2010 600 campaign in impressive style, winning feature events on Friday and Sunday night in Pennsylvania. Brookens won his heat race and led every lap of the main at Path Valley Speedway on Friday night, taking his new XXX 600 to victory lane in it’s first appearance. Jimmy then followed up his Friday night performance with a win at nearby Shippensburg Speedway on Sunday.
Leigh Van Ginneken was on a tear over the weekend, as he took his XXX Formula 500 to an impressive victory at Murray Bridge Speedway in South Australia on Saturday night. In the process of winning the main, Van Ginneken set a new ten lap speed record for the Formula 500 class. Leigh then took his XXX to Premier Speedway in Warrnambool on Sunday where he brought home second.
