Kruseman Scores First Sprint Car Win Of The Season

By Gary Costa

VENTURA, CA – (April 3, 2010) — Ventura’s own Cory Kruseman made the most out of his weekend as the USAC/ CRA Sprint Car Series would have an off weekend. “The Kruser” and the talented Steve “Biggie” Watt would join forces to do battle at Ventura Raceway with the VRA Non-Wing Sprint Cars on Jim Naylor ’s racy surface.

With 35 hungry drivers in attendance, it would be “go time” for Kruseman the entire night. Kruseman, who finished fourth last weekend at the Perris Auto Speedway during the USAC/ CRA event, would drill the potent Maxwell Industries, Agromin Products, Steve Watt Enterprises No. 69 around the speedway, and begin his evening with a win in the third heat race.

Kruseman, who runs the popular “ Cory Kruseman Sprint Car & Midget Driving School ” at Ventura Raceway, would start on the pole for the 30 lap feature event. When the green lights flashed on around the speedway, it was immediately evident that Watt had the No. 69 dialed in, as “the Kruser” was hooked up and flying around the speedway. Cory would never be challenged, en route to his first Sprint Car victory of the season.

In USAC Western States Midget action, the Friday night Chili Bowl preliminary winner, charged to victory during the first heat race in his Kruseman Motorsports, Lucas Oil, No. 21K. In the 30 lap feature, Kruseman finished a solid fourth in the talented field of Midget drivers. Kruseman’s fourth place finish also helped him creep into the Top-10 in USAC Western Midget point standings.
