The Sprint Invader Association took to the familiar grounds of Southeast Iowa’s 34 Raceway on Saturday, April 17th for their Season Opener. For many years, Jerrod Hull sat on top of the all-time win list for the organization until recently. Hull regained that top spot as the checkered flag flew for the Sikeston, Missouri native.
After finishing second in his heat race, Hull took to the evening’s Dash program with a positive outlook for the track. Moving up from mid-pack in the Dash, Hull would take the lead and take part in the shake-up dash dice roll. Rolling a 5 would mark his starting spot of 5th, but hold on, this was a special night for the Invaders. With a back of the pack challenge in front on the card, driver after driver would decline due to the ultra-fast racing surface until one decided to take the challenge, allowing Hull to start 4th in the feature.
When the feature’s green flag flew, it was Mediapolis, Iowa’s Ryan Jamison taking to the point with the hungry pack following. Hull would buy his time for the first few laps, allowing for the racing surface to take shape, then, on lap 5, it was time to take the lead. As Hull sailed around Jamison, it was time to do battle with lapped traffic and hold onto the lead. Each lap Hull piloted the Heartland Trailer Manufacturing #12 Maxim, he was increasing the distance between him and the pack. As the black and white flew, Jerrod will lap the entire field up to 5th position finishing out the 34 lap affair.
“The car was just awesome tonight, my crew and Scott Bonar of Midland Performance did exactly what they needed to do for me to be able to do the things that others couldn’t do tonight on the track,” commented the 3-time Midwest All Star Champion. “I was able to pass a lot of cars going into the turns because I was able to drive a lot harder into the corner and then slide up just a bit. It was just an awesome, awesome job for this team tonight.”
As mentioned, Hull now is once again at the top of the All-Time list with 13 career victories with the series, matching Kaley Gharst. Hull has never ran with the series in hunt for a championship, but has posted the victories since 2002 while driving for the late Rich DeReu in the 50 car, the Hammer’s Brothers #94, and his own #12.
“Racing with the (Sprint) Invaders is good for this team. Most of my team, including Scott and Colton, both got strong ties to those guys, so it is a special treat for them to show off their talents in front of their friends and families. We would like to race with them a little more if we could, but our schedule conflicts so much throughout the season, but we will get back to racing with that great group of guys real soon, next week again at Shepp’s Speedway.”
Hull and the Heartland Trailer Manufacturing #12 team will be traveling with the Sprint Invaders to Shepp’s Speedway in Illinois next Friday, where he found success in 410 competition in 2009 and will close out his weekend at Lake Ozark.
Are you on Facebook? New for Jerrod Hull Motorsports is a Facebook group page dedicated to his fans. This year marks the 5th anniversary of Hull naming his loyal followers, Hullheads. The nick-name for the fans came during a brainstorm session where the team was looking for a way to collectively describe his loyalist of fans. The Facebook page is set-up so fans can contribute well wishes, photos, and discuss all things Jerrod Hull. The page will also feature up to date results for the team, schedule changes, and press releases. Hull plans to use the page as an extension of his already successful website; www.jerrodhullmotorsports.com. Stay up to date by visiting either site today!

Jerrod Hull is very quick to give credit where credit is due with the success he has had on the track and in life. As he has testified many times before, “I could not do what I do in life either with racing, my family, or career if I did not have such a good ground to stand on with the Lord.” Lighthouse Christian Center has been a staple on the Jerrod Hull Motorsports team now for 4 years to be able to reach out to others.
