Haud Tops WoO; Johnson leads XXX to ASCS Win

By Kaleb Hart

It was a huge weekend for Team XXX with wins coming from the World of Outlaws, ASCS-Lone Star Region, URC and many more. Jac Haudenschild brought home the first WoO win for a XXX chassis at Paducah Speedway in Kentucky. Wayne Johnson went wire to wire for the ASCS-Lone Star win in Texas. Justin Collett brought home the first URC win for a XXX chassis in Delaware. Jimmy Christian pulled off a wingless spec sprint clean sweep in California. Brian Czuczi won the wingless main at TPCR in Australia. Jimmy Brookens and Landon Hurst won mains in PA and CA in their XXX 600s.

The first XXX chassis rolled onto the race track in May of 2006. From there, the XXX chassis has experienced success on every level but one. The only win remaining to fill the XXX Trophy Case – A World of Outlaws feature win. That spot in the XXX Trophy Case has now been filled, thanks to Jac Haudenschild and the Carnahan Motorsports R19 team. Friday night, April 16, 2010 at Paducah Speedway in Kentucky, Jac took the lead early in the feature, then endured multiple double file restarts to claim victory over the World of Outlaws for himself and all the members of Team XXX. From all of us at Triple X Race Co, thank you to Jac, Patty, Leonard and Marie as well as team owner Lon Carnahan for letting us be a part of your success. We also want to thank everyone that has been a part of Triple X Race Co’s growth and success. To Lisa, Sharene, Colton, Mel (aka Hair Farmer), Juicebox, Kelsey, Kaleb, Alan, and all the teamXXX racers; thank you for your hard work and dedication in getting us where we are today. The XXX chassis has succeeded at the highest level of our sport. Thank you to everyone who helped us get there!

Wayne Johnson has bounced around multiple rides in 2010, taking his seat from Australia to Florida already this year. After Saturday night, Johnson may have found a home in the second car operated by Brian Parker. Johnson led every lap of the ASCS-Lone Star region feature from his pole position. Look for Wayne to climb back into the Parker owned #9 XXX chassis again in two weekends as they look for another ASCS regional win.

Team XXX wants to send congratulations out to Justin Collett and his car owner John Pinter for their winning run this past weekend with the URC Sprints at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE. Starting from the pole, Collett built a solid lead running in clean air, then held off his challengers in traffic to give car owner Pinter his first URC in their XXX chassis.

Jimmy Christian pulled off the elusive clean sweep on Friday night at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA in the Wingless Spec Sprint Division. After winning his heat and dash, Christian chased race leader Ryan Bernal around the track for the duration of the race, finishing second. But post race, Bernal failed to meet minimum weight requirements, handing the clean sweep to Christian in the #32 XXX.

Team XXX drivers in Australia have been on quite a roll in the Wingless Sprint division, with Brian Czuczi taking the Wingless Sprint main event win at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway on Saturday night in his XXX chassis. The win is the sixth overall for XXX chassis in the division during the ’09-’10 season in AU.

In 600 mini sprint action, Jimmy Brookens and Landon Hurst were victorious. Brookens brought home his 4th win in as many weekends of racing at Trail Way Speedway in PA. Hurst won the main event in only his third career start in the 600 stock class at Lemoore Raceway in CA.
