HARTFORD, Ohio (April 24, 2010) – The first night of 6 PAK Saturday racing at the 3/8-mile dirt oval at Sharon Speedway was rained out Saturday, April 24.
“The track was dry all day. We thought we had avoided the rain,” Sharon Speedway general manager Dave Willoughby says. “We wanted to get this race in. Unfortunately, the rain came in just as we were getting started.”
There is a new rain check policy at Sharon Speedway. If all qualifying races have been completed and the show must be postponed, then no rain checks will be issued. The night’s activities shall be considered complete. The rained out features will be scheduled to subsequent nights. If the races are canceled during the qualifying races, the face value of that rain check will be honored for the remainder of the speedway race season.
Rain checks issued Saturday will be valid for Friday Night Thunder and 6 PAK Saturday throughout the 2010 season.
The points season for 410 Sprints, Big Block Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Limited Sprints and Hobby Stocks at Sharon Speedway will now begin Saturday, May 1.
Tickets for the Saturday 6 Pack series are $13 for adults ages 14 and older, $5 for teens from ages 9 to 13 and kids 8 and under are free. This season, Sharon Speedway is offering a Family Pass for $32, which includes admission for two adults and up to four children under 13. Pit admission is $25.
New this season, Sharon Speedway will offer Friday Night Thunder with Mod Lites, Sportsman, Micros, 2 bbl Economy Mods and Hobby Stocks. Friday Night Thunder begins May 7 and will continue every other Friday night.
Tickets for Friday Night Thunder are just $10 for adults, $5 for teens and free for children younger than 9. Pit passes are available for $20. Fans can also receive $3 off the price of admission and $5 off the price of a pit pass on Saturdays with a ticket from Friday.
