(Mercer, PA)…After such a promising start to 2010 with three great nights of racing and nice weather to open up the 59th anniversary season at Mercer Raceway Park, the weather has went down hill the last four weeks. For the third time in the last four Saturdays, racing action was cancelled at The Park due to the inclement weather with rain showers, high winds, and cool temperatures.

“We just can’t catch a break the last month with the weather,” stated owner Bill Altman. “Seems like we can’t break the stretch of nice weather during the week and rain coming in for the weekends. With rain showers coming off the lake, winds gusting to 50 miles per hour, and falling temperatures, it just wasn’t a good situation for anyone to try to race tonight. Hopefully better weather on Saturdays is around the corner.”

Coming up next Saturday, May 8 will be a full show of Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, Approved Toilet Rentals Modifieds, 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Stock Cars, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks. Kids 12 and under will receive a free hot dog, Herr’s chips, and a drink. Race time is 7 p.m.
