Riverside Bar and Grill Sweetens the Pot for Shootout Weekend at Can-Am

From Dean Reynolds

SYRACUSE, NY – The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) and the Can-Am Motorsports Park are showcasing Shootout Weekend in celebration of our nation’s birthday. The Wilson family and their Riverside Bar and Grill located in Gananoque, Ontario has joined the party by sponsoring the A-Mains on the weekend where over $25,000 in cash will be handed out..

The LaFargeville, NY oval is looking to etch its name in a new ESS tradition by playing host to the richest full point events in the 28 year history of the Lucas Oil Tour. With the help of Riverside Bar and Grill the Friday night 25 lap finale will pay $2,000 to win and on Saturday the main event pays a whopping $4,000 to win, $2,000 for second, $1,000 for third, $450 for tenth and $300 just to take the green.

Last year the back to back events were tried for the first time. While Mother Nature claimed the first night, 38 sprints filled the pits with a large crowd on hand for Saturday’s event. With the potential of an annual two-day deal, Can-Am has decided to throw a lot of extra money at the sprinters in looking to make this something very special.

The Wilson family always likes to give back to the competitors and with their help, many teams will see extra in their pay envelopes. Rick Wilson is a former track champion at Can-Am with the small block modifieds and also has two ESS victories which were very popular among his fans. His teenage daughter April has been making great strides behind the wheel and will also be on hand for the weekend.

It all starts this Friday night (July 2nd.) where the stars and cars from the Lucas Oil ESS tour will take on all comers. A possible $6,000 plus is out there waiting to be taken. Riverside Bar and Grill, Can-Am Motorsports Park and some of the best 360 sprint car drivers from the Northeastern United States and Canada await. It will be excitement guaranteed!!
