VANCOUVER, Wash. – The IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour is pleased to announce that it’s non-wing 360 sprint car division, the premier touring wingless sprint car group in the Pacific Northwest will be making its debut at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks, Ore. on Saturday, July 31st.
The NWWT and Sunset Speedway Park officials recently agreed to the event with a contract signed just days ago, this following a successful NWWT midget car event won by Mitch Hoffses at the small 1/4-mile, semi-banked, red clay oval on June 19th. This brings non-wing sprint car racing back to Sunset Speedway Park, which for a number of years now has been a venue for traditional sprint cars.
This gives the IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour sprint cars a two-day weekend, as they race the night before, Friday, July 30th at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore. The NWWT midgets will be also be on hand at Willamette that Friday night.
The announcement has pleased many of the drivers, who have suffered a number of rainouts and have only had one points race so far, with Jeff Bell being the winner at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. on June 12th.
The next event for the IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour is a dual show featuring both the 360 sprint cars and the midgets this Thursday at Grays Harbor Raceway, where the NWWT will be the opening event for the 4th Annual Fred Brownfield Memorial weekend.
