KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 13, 2010) – The Friday night races of the 50th Goodyear Knoxville Nationals have been postponed until Saturday afternoon, August 14. Due to that rescheduling, the following museum-related activities have been CANCELLED for 2010:
– museum’s memorabilia auction
– “Sixty Minutes in the Trostle Garage with…” Danny Smith at 11:30 a.m. and Knoxville historians Bob Wilson & Bill Wright at 1:30 p.m.
– International Reel Wheel Film Festival.
However, the museum will try to show the three films in the Knoxville Nationals Fan Fair area of the museum following the afternoon racing program. The films are “Racing Dreams” (2009), “Short Track” (2008), and “Red Dirt Rising” (2010). The museum will also try to host two-time Knoxville Nationals-winning car owner Bob Trostle in his Trostle Garage in the museum at 3:30 p.m. as originally scheduled.
The first-floor museum will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The second-, third- and fourth-floor race-viewing areas will open for ticketing at 10 a.m., too.
