Troy DeCaire is the 2010 Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series Champion!

Tampa Florida’s Troy DeCaire added yet another championship to his resume as he became the 2010 Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series champion with his second place finish at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin.

“This was probably physically the toughest race I’ve driven all year, with jumping in a car I’ve never driven before, and knowing I had to take it to the front to win this championship, which makes this championship that much sweeter,” said DeCaire. “I would like to thank Tony Swanson for working his butt off with me to get this car sorted, and also for just giving me a car to drive after me and my previous owner parted ways earlier in the week.”

Earlier in the week, Troy picked up the Swanson-owned Competition Welding chassis, which was a backup to the team’s primary, and worked on it all night Thursday and Friday to get ready for Saturday’s big race.

“I never drove a Competition Welding car before and it was not easy, but Tony was great and each time we went out we picked up more speed” continued DeCaire. “I was fifth quick in practice and put down two solid laps to qualify eighth, right behind Bobby East, who had a pretty new car with a Roush Yates 410 in it, so I was pretty happy with that.”

After the heat race, Tony and Troy continued to thrash on the car, making more adjustments to the the front end and also changed springs, trying to work on the tight condition the car had. “When the green dropped I got a really good start and started working my way toward the front. When East got up to me and showed me his nose and he was sliding, I let him go because I couldn’t afford to be taken out. I did run him back down, but there were just so many cautions, and whenever I got five to six laps of heat in the tires I could run him back down, but then another yellow would come out. But hey, I ran second to Bobby East in his Roush Yates 410 with my converted dirt car with a spare Swanson motor. I’ll take it!”

The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series was formed to provide a showcase for the fastest and best pavement sprint car drivers in the country. With their RacefansTV program with both domestic and international distribution, including Comcast, and their 24/7 Must See Racing Channel, the series had a broadcast reach that was second to none for a short track series.

“It was certainly a gamble I made moving out here and putting together rides where I could, but I could not have done it without the support of my sponsors Maverick Concrete Cutting, Job Site Concrete, K&N Filters, Joe Gibbs Driven, Simpson Race Products, Steele Performance Parts, Hakk Media and Jimmy John’s,” continued DeCaire. “Thank you again to everyone, this has been a dream year for me and 2011 will only be better.”

Troy DeCaire is not resting on his laurels and will be competing this weekend at Citrus County Speedway with the Central Florida Wingless Sprints Series, where he is the series defending champion.
