Haubstadt, IN – The most winning driver in MSCS history completed a weekend sweep of the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series events in Southern Indiana by taking the third annual Haubstadt Hustler Sprint 50 Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway. The latest victory earned the Brownsburg, IN, driver $10,000. Stanbrough was at the wheel of the Fox Brothers Racing sprint sponsored by Jarvis Enterprises. He became the third different winner in the short history of the event. Stanbrough also received a commemorative clock as an award from MSCS as the driver with the Best Overall Performance at the two tracks during the series’ 10th Anniversary Weekend Celebration.

Stanbrough started in row three as the field took the green flag. The red light would come on immediately as Daron Clayton’s car flipped just before the field got to the starter’s stand. He had started on the inside pole. The cars of Damion Gardner and Blake Fitzparick returned to the back of the line-up for the restart after the wrecked car of Clayton had been removed. On the restart Kyle Cummins shot into the lead with Scotty Weir in close pursuit in the Benic sprint car. The two stayed one and two for over 20 laps. By lap 24 Stanbrough had passed both of those drivers and would take the green following a caution period with the lead. He had the edge he needed to earn the win!

As Stanbrough led the last half of the race Blake Fitzpatrick was continuing to work through the faster portion of the field. He was already in the top five by lap 25. With 8 laps to go he had taken second from Kyle Cummins. A third yellow had closed the field. There was an accident between turns 3 and 4 with 2 or 3 cars involved. The running order would not change with Fitzpatrick, Cummins, Weir, and Hunter Schuerenberg completing the top five. Finishes Friday and Saturday night propelled Fitzpatrick into the 2010 MSCS Points lead. He became the fourth different points leader this season as a tight battle for the series championship continues.

Levi Jones was sixth in the feature. Jones started eighteenth among the B-Main transfers. He made good progress capturing the official MSCS Hard Charger honors for the feature by advancing 12 spots. Critter Malone was seventh followed by Chase Briscoe, Jonathan Hendrick, and Thomas Meseraull. Damion Gardner stood 11th at the finish and received the Wilwood Tuff Brakes Award. Fifteen cars were running as the 50 lapper ended.

The heat races were all exciting match-ups. It started with heat one won by Scotty Weir. Contact between cars after the event had ended sent the sprint car driven by Brandon Mattox into a push truck. Chris Windom was then penalized because of his actions in the incident and as a result he had to run in the B-Main. Hunter Schuerenberg won heat two. Kyle Cummins and Blake Fitzpatrick won the final two heats with the top four drivers transferring from each of the four events.

Prior to the A-Main Thomas Meseraull took the B-Main with a last lap pass on leader Levi Jones. Leading MSCS Rookie of the Year contender Jonathan Hendrick was third and 2008 Haubstadt Hustler Sprint 50 winner Jeff Bland Jr. was fourth. Adam Nigg just missed the cut with a fifth place finish but would elect to take a provisional spot and start the feature. Chris Windom was in line to be the alternate had one been needed.
