A “20 and 10” USAC Regional Midget “special event” is on tap this Saturday afternoon at the Toledo (Ohio) Speedway in conjunction with the “Rollie Beale 150” USAC Silver Crown Championship Series finale.
The Midget race will be contested in two segments, a 20-lapper followed by a 10-lapper, similar to the race conducted at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway in September.
Participants from both the 2010 USAC Regional and USAC/WOMS Midget Series are anticipated entrants in the “special event,” which will be held on the track’s half-mile paved oval.
Dalton Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. captured championships of both the Regional and USAC/WOMS series during 2010.
Saturday’s race will mark the seventh appearance of USAC Midgets at Toledo, where Jimmy Knight was a 30-lapper in 1957. Subsequent Midget victories at Toledo were posted by Josh Wise (2005), Kevin Swindell (2006), Bryan Clauson (2007), Bobby Santos III (2009) and Darren Hagen this past July.
