TULSA, Okla. (October 13, 2010) – As Short Track Nationals entries continue to pour in, prospective competitors are reminded that the event’s pre-entry discount deadline is this Sunday, October 17.
Drivers planning on competing in I-30 Speedway’s 23rd Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters National series on October 28-30 can save $100 by filing entries by the October 17 deadline.
Entries submitted by this Sunday are just $150, with entries submitted after that deadline at $250. Entry forms are available at http://www.i-30speedway.com/2010stnflyer.pdf or by calling the track at 501-455-4567.
The prestigious Sprint Car racing event held in Little Rock, AR, each year offers up a $15,000 winner’s share with a minimum of $2,300 to all championship feature event starters of the 23rd annual event. All three nights of Lucas Oil ASCS competition will be broadcast on VERSUS on a tape-delayed basis.
Last year, Tony Bruce, Jr., of Liberal, KS, bested a field of 101 competitors to join Steve Kinser and Gary Wright as the only drivers in event history to post back-to-back STN triumphs.
While Bruce, Jr., has topped the last two editions of the Short Track Nationals, other past winners include Jason Meyers (2007), Jason Johnson (2006), Tim Montgomery (2005), Gary Wright (2004, 2003, 1999 and 1995), Paul McMahan (2002), Jason Sides (2001), Mike Ward (2000), Tim Crawley (1998), Wayne Johnson (1997), Pete Butler (1996), Terry Gray (1994) and John Gerloff (1993).
Steve Kinser (1988, ’89 and ’91) and Sammy Swindell (1990) claimed early renditions of the Short Track Nationals before the 1992 finale was rained out.
