Atlanta, GA – November 06, 2010 – The United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear “Flip Flop 50” for winged sprint cars headlines the $50,000 USCS Fall Nationals 20010 presented by Union Auto Parts on Friday and Saturday, November 12th and 12th at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas. The sprint car portion of the speedway’s 61st season finale features a very unique format that includes twin 25-lap main events. The first of these twin main events will start straight-up after Friday night’s Pole Qualifying rounds with the top qualifier starting in the K&N Filters Pole Position. At the conclusion of the first 25-lap main event, the finishing order will be completely inverted for the second 25-lap main event.
The winner of the first USCS winged sprint car main event will start twenty-second in the second main event and the last place car that finished the entire first main event will start from the K&N Filters Pole Position in main event number two. Each of the winged sprint car main events will pay $2500 to the winner. A bonus of $5000 will be paid to the winner of the first main event if they can also win the second 25-lap contest after starting from twenty-second position. Each of the main-events will pay $250 to start that main event totaling $500 to start both. Including the Goodyear Speed Dash and K&N Filters Pole Scramble one driver could collect $10,200 in winnings for the weekend’s efforts.
The “Flip Flop 50” Pole Qualifying Night on Friday, November 12th features competition for the all important K&N Filters Pole Position in the first of twin 25-lap main-events. Drivers will first draw for their qualifying race starting positions. The drivers will then compete in a series of qualifying races with a maximum of eight cars in each. Each driver will then be awarded the passing points they earned in their qualifying race. Their passing points total will determine their line-up position for either the K&N Filters Pole Scramble on Friday night or for their starting position in the Last Chance/B-Main(s) on Saturday night (November 13th).
The top eight drivers in passing points after the qualifying races will be “locked-into” the “Flip Flop” 50’s first 25-lap feature race on Saturday night. The top eight drivers in passing points will advance to the K&N Filters Pole Scramble race on Friday night. The K&N Filters Pole Scramble will determine the final line-up for those cars in rows one through four in the first of the twin 25-lap main events.
On Saturday night the Last Chance/B-Main(s) will determine the final 14 starting positions for the USCS presented by Goodyear “Flip Flop 50” main event number one. The second USCS sprint car main event starting order will be aligned completely inverted from the finish of the first main event. All cars that finish the first main event will line up inverted from their finish in main event number one. Any cars that do not finish the first main event, but are able to re-start the second main event will be inverted behind the cars that completed the race.
If any cars are unable to start the second race they will be replaced by the first alternate from the first main event and then the second alternate, so on and etc. The driver that won the first Flip Flop 50 main event will start last in the 22 car field. If the winning driver from the first main event can also win the second 25-lap main event they will be awarded a BONUS of $5000.
Additionally joining the USCS winged sprint cars on the action-packed racing card are the USCS Outlaw Modifieds racing for $1000 to win and $100 to start each night, plus the P.R.O. Dirt Car Series Super Late Models racing for $2000 to win and $100 to start their 40-lap main event. The Winged 600cc Mini Sprints compete both nights with their main events paying $500 to win each night with a $100 bonus to win both features making it possible to collect $1100 in two nights. The popular Riverside Stock Cars are included on the season finale racing program racing for $1500 to win with $100 posted for the last place finisher in the main event.
**Mufflers are required on all race cars in all divisions at Riverside International Speedway. The legal mufflers are Schoenfeld part# 112535.
