After what has been a frustrating start, Grant Anderson was able to achieve his best result of the 2010/11 season with a Top 10 finish in the second round of the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship at Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway.
What made Anderson’s result, which won him the ‘Hard Charger’ award for the round, impressive was the fact that he had just scaped into the feature race field after he had grabbed the second last transfer spot out of the B-main and he was then able to work his way from position 19 in the field up to 10th at the finish.
“It’s been a difficult and frustrating start to the season, as we’ve had plenty of rainouts plus not a lot of luck out on the track with a number of dramas, so the confidence was a bit down,” explained Anderson. “We just made it into the feature race at Toowoomba and our car’s setup wasn’t too bad. We worked our way forward and finished inside the Top 10, so the team and I were pretty happy about it.”
The whole Anderson Motorsport team are now hoping that their latest result will be the start of more impressive results to come in the 2010/11 season.
“There are still a lot of the major races to come and I’m confident that we have what it takes to be right up there,” enthused the VIC # 37 Wagga Mobile Cranes supported Foster driver. “With the tough start to the season hopefully now behind us we are getting into the busy period and hopefully we can build up some consistency.”
Anderson is next scheduled to be in action on Saturday night, December 11 at Avalon Raceway (Geelong, VIC) for the latest round of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series.
