Chris Kearns of Santa Maria, Calif. has been named Director of USAC’s AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car and West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series.
The current race organizer at Santa Maria Speedway, Chris is one of the busiest men in motorsports, organizing and coordinating West Coast Late Model and Street Stock racing in addition to his Sprint car endeavors.
“My goal is to make all racing better on the West Coast, which makes the racing better at Santa Maria Speedway,” says Kearns. “We had a very successful USAC West Coast 360 Series in 2010 and I look forward to 2011 and the challenges ahead. The racers are also my customers and we are in the entertainment business.”
The 2011 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car series debuts March 12 at Perris Auto Speedway with 22 races on tap, including two at Santa Maria. The 2011 USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car series opens March 18 at Giant Chevrolet Speedway in Hanford and visits Santa Maria five times during the 17-race schedule.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Chris as a member of our team,” says USAC VP/Western Operations Tommy Hunt. “His expertise, insight and enthusiasm are valuable assets for USAC. I am looking forward to working with him as we continue to build and expand our Western operations.”
Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. is the three-time defending champion of the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Series, while Craig Stidham of Fresno, Calif. won last year’s inaugural West Coast 360 title.
