Night two of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series portion of the 40th Annual DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park was on tap for the Big Game Treestands #7 team as they looked to rebound from a tough night on Friday.
Another strong field of 34 cars signed into the pit area with Dollansky pulling the fourteen pill in qualifying. Dollansky duplicated his qualifying efforts from Friday as he posted the 9th fastest time to once again start outside the front row of heat race one. The similarities of Friday evening continued in the heat race as the Karavan Trailers #7 got a great start and motored to the victory. With a dash inversion of eight, Dollansky would start fourth where he once again got a great start to split Jessica Zemken and Kraig Kinser when the field raced into turn one. Kinser used momentum to race past the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim as Dollansky would finish 2nd.
Starting outside the front row for the 30 lap A-Main, the driver out of Elk River, Minnesota again got a great start on the highside to lead the field into turn one and set the pace. Dollansky set a blistering pace throughout the feature as he opened up a ten second lead by just the nineth lap. ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ worked the highside of the speedway to perfection as the race went clean and green the first 27 laps as he maintained his large lead. Early misfortunes of the 2011 season once again struck the Big Game Treestands #7 team with just three laps remaining as smoke billowed out of the hood and Dollansky coasted to a stop and the first victory of the young season was taken away.
The Big Game team has been one of the fastest cars all weekend thus far and with a little bit of luck would have the A-Main results to show for it. The team will get back on the gas Sunday night at Volusia Speedway Park to wrap up the opening weekend of the World of Outlaws season.
