DC DELIGHTED TO BE HEADING BACK TO DUBBO

By Tom Worsley

Darryl Campbell and Heeley Motorsport didn’t have the night he was hoping for last Saturday at Sydney Speedway.

After having strong pace all night, Campbell lead most of the feature and just one lap from the finish the Oxytech #94 Sprintcar came to a stop after running out of fuel.

“To have a podium position snatched from you in the last lap is just gut wrenching,” commented DC. “There were a lot more stoppages in the closing stages of the race than we anticipated.”

DC was able to take fourth and second respectively in his two heats.

His focus now turns to the NSW Title this weekend at Morris Park Speedway, Dubbo – a track DC enjoys going to every time.

He said, “We always seem to go pretty well at Dubbo. It’s a great, quick track and the people out there make the trip so enjoyable.”

Campbell is hoping Dubbo brings him better luck in the 54th running of the NSW Championship will bring him more success than last year which saw Sprintcar 94 on the non-finisher list.
